There has been lots of discussion and rumors about Minecraft coming to the Wii U console, but as of yesterday evening (December 7th, 2015), we can confirm that the new game will be released on Wii U on December 17th, 2015, or 9 days from when this post has been published.
This was announced in a short clip Mojang posted on YouTube yesterday. In the video, Jeb Bergensten (Minecraft Lead Developer) says Minecraft will be coming to Wii U. He did not clarify when exactly, but luckily Owen Hill from Mojang published an article to help give gamers all the important information about this topic. Below you will find what we found to be most handy and worth reading from Mojang’s article.
“Anyway, now it’s 100% official. Minecraft is launching on Nintendo’s Wii U console on December 17th. It’ll cost $29:99 or equivalent, will be available to download on the eShop, and comes bundled with six of our most popular add-on packs.”
“Minecraft: Wii U Edition will also feature off-TV play, so you can continue playing on the Gamepad when other people want to use the TV for less fun things like movies or other video games.”
“*Minecraft: Wii U Edition will have an ESRB rating of E10 and a PEGI rating of 7 for ‘fantasy violence.'”
So there you have it, the game is on its way to a new console! Keep checking back for more news on this topic, and many more.
